Raiders pull off double-overtime win to go 6-0

| Comments (4)

Sophomore running back Nate Eachus ran for 98 yards and two touchdowns as the No. 23-ranked Colgate Raiders defeated Princeton 21-14 in double overtime on ESPNU. Eachus scored on a pair of two-yard touchdown runs in both the first and second overtime periods.

The game was a battle of wills, as both defenses played spectacular football. Colgate held Princeton scoreless for over 50 minutes before Princeton quarterback Tommy Wornham threw a 31-yard touchdown pass to Trey Peacock with 9:45 remaining in the fourth quarter, tying the game 7-7.

On the other side, the Princeton defense did not allow a Colgate runner to reach over 100 yards. It marks only the second time since 2006 that a Colgate runner did not reach the century mark in rushing yards.

Hello Colgate Football Fans,
Brother Bruce '77 and I watched the Colgate OT win over Princeton at a Sports Bar on the NC / SC state border as we were with USAF pilot golfing buddies - 20+ at MYR / SC. By the end of the game we had all in the bar rooting and pulling for Colgate. It was fun and exciting. Thanks to Coach Biddle and the team and all involved. Take care, be safe, go'gate!! bobglen '71

Drove seven hours last week to see the Cornell game and rushed home from a business trip yesterday to watch the Princeton game. This is Colgate football at its best, I could not be prouder of my alma mater and of those who carry on the "Spirit That Is Colgate...."

Now that's football! We're so used to thinking of games being decided in OT by a field goal watching NFL broadcasts. This game was a real football test of skills, stamina and purpose. To Coach Biddle, the coaching staff and the entire Colgate Raider team .... Great job, and a well deserved win.

We are proud to have you all representing Colgate University.

Go 'Gate....

Whoo HOO! Go 'GATE! We were watching at the PRINCETON CLUB in New York and it was a blast. We had young and older classes and members of the Alumni Council and the Board. Great time, great camaraderie and go football 6-0!
