Thank you Colgate for your thoughtful choice this year. As a parent I am very pleased to see you did not select a celebrity or a politician.

- Kate M. Lyon

So unfortunate that his speech (and every following commencement speech) will not be given on the lawn besides Taylor Lake with a backdrop of the hillside campus. Also means no ice cream social along the creek afterwards. Being one of the country's most beautiful college campuses, I'm willing to shake off a little rain, or even snow to have this memory associated with it.

- Mich Tackle

This guy is one of the the most dynamic and exciting personalities I think that I have ever seen! He radiates energy and light like a sun of the intellect! I can't wait to hear him at the 2009 Colgate University commencement.

- Thomas Powers

I am thrilled to read of Geoffrey Canada's upcoming commencement address at Colgate. I am fortunate to work at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, where Mr. Canada received his master's degree. He is one of the most well respected leaders in entreprenurial education, addressing social justice issues through a non-profit framework that should inspire graduates.

If you think Mr. Canada will not be as exciting a speaker as a 'bigger' billboard name, I encourage you to watch his Class Day address at HGSE last year (RealPlayer needed): http://gsevserv.harvard.edu/ramgen/commencement/gc_06-04-08.rm

- Devon Skerritt '00
