As an SU grad, lacrosse player AND Rich Bartlett's younger brother, I just want to add these words to the blog: QUIT BEATIN' MY SYRACUSE LACROSSE TEAMS ALREADY! I mean, ok, I can accept maybe last year's defeat, SU didn't have a particularly good team, but to do it again this year? COME ON! You're killin' me! I'm hoping SU uses that defeat as a wake up call... It's called a silver lining, I guess.

- Doug Bartlett

Both Heather and Jim have done an unreal job! Congratulations!

Upon informing fellow Hartford, CT area resident, Stew Lindsay (Lacrosse Hall of Fame and Syracuse lacrosse teammate of Jim Brown of NFL Cleveland Browns fame) of 'gate's win over the Orange he said, obviously stunned, "...and two years in a row!" 'nuf said!

As a '72 player vs SU, on a beautiful spring day in Hamilton when we lost by only two goals, I was proud of that "moral victory". However, I'm even MORE proud of this year's tremendous tangible victory.

Keep it going guys! Jump on 'em early in the quarters! Make 'em think "more of the same!"

Rich Bartlett
West Hartford, CT

P.S. "Hi" to teammate Brian Rooney!!

Congratulations to Coaches Bliss and Nagle and all the players of the Colgate lacrosse program! Colgate lacrosse has sure come a long way since the "club" program of the 70's. Your hard work has made a big difference, and is a joy for us old stickers to watch. Hope you have a lot of fun in the NCAA Tournament!
We'll be watching and cheering!

As a member of the team back in 1963-64, I shed a few tears of joy learning of the teams "follow through" victory over Syracuse yesterday after winning the Patriot League. It takes character to keep a good thing going. Congratulations and best wishes to all in the NCAA Tournament. What a great thing to wish for.

Coaches Heather Bliss and Jim Nagle have done well indeed! You have developed your teams throughout the season with the skills, athleticism and drive to be the best in the Patriot League and beyond. While the results speak for themselves we can only imagine how satisfying all of this is for your captains and their teammates, not to mention Colgate parents, faculty, staff, students and fans in town. This is college sports at its best.

Best of luck in the NCAA Division 1 tournament.

Warm regards, Steve Solomon '76

- stephen solomon
