Pig Iron Theatre Co. at Colgate Complex in their exploration of neuroscience and their varied influences, yet simplistic in their acting method that is rooted in raw emotion, the Pig Iron Theatre Company has brought its unique style to Colgate.

After a week of interacting with theater students in workshops, classes, and a roundtable discussion, Pig Iron's visit will culminate in a performance of its latest production, Chekhov Lizardbrain, this weekend at Brehmer Theater.

Slater brothers sponsor film festival in Hamilton

A little piece of Hollywood is coming to downtown Hamilton this summer thanks to the efforts of Grant Slater '91 and his two brothers, Wade and Todd. They are the sons of the late Colgate men's hockey coach Terry Slater, and founders of Slater Brothers Entertainment (SBE).

SBE will hold its first-ever Hamilton Film Festival and Awareness Walk from Aug. 7-8.

Students burn both ends of candle for theater

video icon A love of theater, a healthy dose of stamina, and a strong desire to see a project to a successful conclusion were on display recently during the 24-Hour Burn at Colgate.

The "burn" involves the entire theatrical process crunched into a 24-hour period, with writing, rehearsing, directing, and acting all happening at Donovan's Pub.

Alumnus wins Tony Award for best set design

A Colgate alumnus received a Tony Award for a unique three-level stage set he designed for the hugely successful play, August: Osage County.

Todd A. Rosenthal '89 won for best set design, one of several awards the play earned during Sunday night's awards show.

Rosenthal earned a degree from Yale School of Drama in New Haven, Conn., after graduating from Colgate.
