A recent article by recent Colgate graduate Will Betz and Professor Nicole Simpson was published by the IZA Journal of Migration and gathered some attention on Europpblog, the European Politics and Policy Blog produced by the London School of Economics Public Policy Group. The paper is entitled “The Effects of International Migration on the Well-Being of Native Populations in Europe.” Betz graduated in May with High Honors in Economics, and recently started a position with Analysis Group in Boston. By Nicole Simpson on August 9, 2013Professor Chad Sparber and his co-authors Giovanni Peri and Kevin Shih have been getting popular press lately on their recent paper on the H-1B visa program in the U.S. A recent article in Forbes argues in support of expanding the H-1B program, while The Atlantic argues against expansion of the H-1B program. Recently, the Washington Post favorably cited their work as well. The working paper is entitled “STEM Workers, H1B Visas and Productivity in US Cities.”
