ITS ALERTS: Service Alert for the Wireless

Overview:
Beginning at approximately 4:00 PM, Monday September 23rd 2013, Colgate’s Network administrators will be replacing a faulty wireless network controller.

Impact

We are not expecting any wireless outage during this event. If something unexpected were to occur, Individuals using the campus wireless network would experience sporadic wireless outages until the new wireless controller is properly installed. Wired connections to the Internet and all local campus resources will not be affected.

Time Frame:

Work on the Campus Wireless network will occur between the hours of 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM on Monday September 23^rd 2013.

Affected Users:

We are not expecting any wireless outage during this equipment replacement.

Things you can do:

Use the campus wired network to access the Internet and all local campus resources during this service event.

ITSInfo: Portal Access Restored

Overview:

Starting at aproximately 5 PM on September 4th, Colgate’s portal experienced a database error which impacted performance and prevented users from accessing portal services.

Changes were made to the portal and resources were added to supporting hardware to address the error.

Impact:

This outage impacted all portal users, including faculty, staff, and students.

Time Frame:

The outage began at approximately 5:00pm. Service was restored by 10:30pm.
