Our trip to Norway would not be complete without a glacier hike! A 1.5-hour bus ride brought us from the idyllic fjord town Sogndal up to the Nigardsbreen Glacier.

We divided into 3 teams, the individuals in each team connected with ropes as a safety precaution (we encountered some small crevasses). We were also equipped with crampons and ice picks to aid our way.

After a 45 minute trek to the base of the glacier, we spent an hour hiking up the glacier then had a quick picnic. From the top we had amazing views of the valley below.

This day at the glacier was definitely a highlight of the trip, with amazing weather, great hiking, time to relax, and some even took a dip in the cold glacier water.
