Colgate and Vassar astronomers collaborate on studying asteroid

An image of asteroid 2005 YU55 in the night skyColgate’s Professor Tom Balonek and his students utilized the resources at Foggy Bottom Observatory to capture images of asteroid 2005 YU55. Simultaneously, Professor Fred Chromey and his students recorded the same asteroid at the Class of 1951 Observatory at Vassar College. The images have been combined into a single composite image for study.
