Professor Chris Henke won a prize from the American Sociology Association this month! The association’s Section on Science, Knowledge, and Technology gave him the 2013 Star-Nelkin Award for the best paper in science and technology studies. Professor Henke wrote the article with a sociologist who works at the Los Alamos National Laboratory. Their article examines how weapons scientist dealt with big changes in the weapons industry since the 1990s, and how they remade their skills and knowledge to remain relevant in the world today. It is a great example of how SOAN professors are making important contributions to public debates.
You can read the article for yourself. When you see Professor Henke, make sure to tell him congratulations on his excellent paper!
