Upstate Institute funds two faculty projects on the region

The Upstate Institute announces the award of grants to support faculty scholarship on, or directly pertaining to, the upstate region of New York. The Upstate Institute serves to promote scholarly research that relates to the region’s social, economic, environmental, and cultural assets. Institute projects promote community collaboration and civic engagement through the creation of knowledge and enhance community capacity throughout the region. Read more


Students will present on local transportation May 3

The Environmental Studies 390 class that is studying varying aspects of transportation in Hamilton and Madison County will present their findings on Thursday, May 3 at 7:00 pm in the Meyerhoff Auditorium, 101 Ho Science Center.

Research Symposium Features Faculty & Student Work

The Upstate Institute hosted a series of presentations by several faculty members who have conducted projects funded by the Upstate Institute Faculty Research Program at the Colgate Bookstore on March 31. The Upstate Institute encourages faculty scholarship on or pertaining to the Upstate region by providing for the costs of research. Faculty submit proposals each January for research on topics related to the broad region of upstate New York. Read more
