The Upstate Institute and the New York Cultural Heritage Tourism Network sponsored “Bridges to the Future: Empowerment through Collaboration in Cultural Heritage Tourism” on Friday, Marcy 18th. Cheryl Hargrove, president of Hargrove International, Inc., provided a keynote discussion on the development, interpretation, management and marketing of cultural heritage tourism in New York state to an audience of almost one hundred for profit and not for profit organizations, cultural heritage attractions and historical societies.
Morning and afternoon breakout sessions focused on building bridges through strategic planning, grants and funding opportunities, ideas for increasing visitation, and marketing and promotion strategies.
The keynote address was sponsored by the Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor and the Rosamond Gifford Foundation.
