9th Annual Seuss Saturday: Saturday, March 12, 2022
Whether you are a long-time fan of Dr. Seuss stories, or have yet to be introduced to his classic books, all are invited to ‘Seuss Saturday’ in Hamilton, NY. Join us on Saturday, March 12th as we celebrate Seuss stories old and new!
There will be a variety of activities for all ages at different times and locations throughout the village. Come to just one, or come to them all! Admission to the day’s programs and activities is free.
Where is The Cat in the Hat?
Stop by the Hamilton Public Library to look for clues about where he’s been and write down your best guess. If you guess correctly, your name will be entered into a drawing to win a Dr. Seuss book from the Colgate Bookstore!
Hamilton Central Masquers Presents: “Seussical”
Seussical the Musical is a fantastical, magical, musical extravaganza, featuring all of your favorite characters from one of the most performed shows in America!
The show includes over fifty students at Hamilton Central, from grades 3-12, which is one of the largest casts to perform a Masquers musical in man years. The cast features Dr. Seuss characters, including Horton the Elephant (played by Harry Rosbrook), The Cat in the Hat (Naomi Meyers), Gertrude McFuzz (Emilija Morkevicius), Mayzie La Bird (Chloe Filipowicz) and a child with a big imagination – Jojo (Cora Loranty). The colorful characters transport us from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus to the invisible world of the Whos. Seussical is fun for the whole family!
Performances will be at 7:00 pm on Friday, March 4 and Saturday, March 5, with a matinee show on Saturday, March 5 at 1:00 pm as well. Tickets are $10 each for adults, and $8 each for students or seniors. Tickets are available at the door for each performance.

10:30 a.m. — Hamilton Public Library [13 Broad Street]
The Village of Hamilton Mayor, RuthAnn Loveless, will kick off the celebrations by making a public declaration establishing Seuss Saturday 2022! A special story time will follow the proclamation as well as crafts and games.
11:30 a.m. — Arts at the Palace [19 Utica Street]
Head over to the Palace Theater for a LIVE Seussi-cal sing-a-long with Jenni Larchar of Jenni’s Music Studio! Kids of all ages are welcome to sing and dance along. Afterwards, set out on a Dr. Seuss Scavenger Hunt! There are 15 posters displayed in local businesses around the village of Hamilton, NY. Find the first poster at the Palace and unlock the list of participating businesses. Once you find all the posters, use the clues on them to solve the final puzzle at the Hamilton Movie Theater which will unlock special birthday cake pops from Maxwell’s Chocolates and Ice Cream, sponsored by the Hub Business Alliance!
12:30 p.m. — Hamilton Movie Theater [7 Lebanon Street]
Next, it’s time for lunch and a movie! Enjoy FREE pizza from Oliveri’s Pizzeria (sponsored by the Community Memorial Hospital) while watching the FREE showing of the 2012 comedy “The Lorax” based on the Seuss classic (sponsored by the Colgate Bookstore). Don’t forget your complimentary Seuss Slushies, sponsored by the Hamilton Movie Theater!
