During the week of September 21st, the NY6/Mellon Foundation and the Office of International Student Services will be holding a series of events in regards to Border Issues.

On Monday, September 21st, there will be a double feature at the Hamilton Theater focusing on Border Issues:
– 7pm “Who is Dayani Cristal”
– 9pm “Frozen River”
Admission is free, with a suggested $5 donation with the proceeds going to the Kino Border Initiative.

On Thursday, September 24th at 4:15pm in the Center for Women’s Studies, there will be a panel discussion on “Gender and Immigration at the US-Mexico Border” with Diana Barnes, Zoe Coleman, and Meika Loe.

Then, at 7pm on September 24th in Love Auditorium, author Todd Millerwill be discussing his book, “Border Patrol Nation: Dispatches from the Frontlines of Homeland Security”.  In his book, Todd Miller tells, with graphic detail, an alarming story of the U.S. Border Patrol and Homeland Security’s ever-widening, militarized and dehumanizing reach into the lives of American citizens and immigrants.
