By Randyll Butler '16 on August 11, 2015

The last couple days has continued to be packed full of surprises and adventure. Saturday morning we were greeted by a native Kiwi smile: Josie was finally here!

We started the day off with a challenge. We split into teams and competed in an Amazing Race: Auckland, New Zealand edition. Starting at the Sky City Hotel, each team was given a list of landmarks and directions. We had to find and take pictures of about six places around the city.

Luckily, I had a very impressive team and fortunately for me, my teammates Julia and Summer could read a map like the back of their hands. So, all I had to do was try to look cute for a couple of pictures and ask some locals if they didn’t mind taking a quick photo! Haha! Some of the places in the city included Aotea Square, where we had to take a picture under a funky cool art structure, an amazing view of the Auckland Harbour Bridge, the beautiful St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and the Auckland Town Hall.

After running through the city, meeting kind faces, and learning about what Auckland has to offer, my team crossed the finish line first and won the challenge! Soon after, we’d be in full game mode, preparing for our first match against the Auckland Lady Hawks!
